Courier Network


PA Labs employs uniformed couriers who are responsible for the pickup and transport of medical specimens from client sites located in Indiana and Ohio to its laboratories. Logistics are established to optimize specimen integrity from pick-up to laboratory delivery.

Orientation Inservice


Orientation of new clients to PA Labs services is provided by a Client Representative. Catalog utilization, phlebotomy technique, specimen preparation and handling, and use of laboratory requisitions are explained in detail with appropriate staff. This orientation inservice facilitates initial interaction between the client and PA Labs and enhances routine utilization of laboratory services.

Supplies


Test request forms that are custom printed with account information and commonly ordered tests are furnished for client convenience. All materials to collect and submit specimens to PA Labs are supplied at no charge.

Directory of Services


PA Labs maintains the most up to date test information in their on-line test directory. This can be found on the home page at palabs.com. A Directory of Services is also published routinely. Both the on-line and printed directory list tests available, indicate specimen collection and handling requirements (including minimum volumes), turn-around time, methodologies, and synonyms.

Specimen Processing


Data entry and specimen distribution to technical sections is performed by Specimen Processing. Each specimen is examined thoroughly to determine if all sample requirements are met and that accompanying information is complete. Continuous monitoring of specimen processing procedures maximizes efficiency and ensures the accuracy of our specimen processing efforts.

Regular Visitations by Client Representatives


A Client Representative makes regular visits to client facilities and is available at all times to handle questions, suggestions, and concerns, and to provide physicians and staff with pertinent information.

Client Response Center (CRC)


Client related issues are continually monitored and reviewed by the Client Response Center in order to maintain excellent service to our clients. CRC representatives have computer access to specimen status and test results, and answer inquiries regarding test parameters such as methodology, performance schedules, and reference ranges. CRC representatives may refer clients to our pathologists, technical consultants, or any of our laboratory departments when indicated. CRC works closely with the Marketing Representative to become familiar with the client's specific needs.

Notification of Changes


In order to keep clients current on changes within the laboratory environment, announcements of new tests or changes in methodology, specimen requirements, turnaround times, or reference ranges TesTalks or client memos are provided.
