Consulting Pathologists

Pathologists

ECIP

PA Labs, the physicians of East Central Indiana Pathologists (ECIP), P.C., and their staff members work together to address the anatomic and clinical laboratory needs of patients.

Quality Assured

  • Pathologists are board certified; many have additional certifications allowing our clients access to expertise in a wide variety of subspecialties.
  • Pathologists participate in an extensive review program, comparing their skills internally and also comparing their proficiency to a national standard.
  • Pathologists make presentations around the country and are recognized as important teachers in their areas of expertise.
  • Pathologists maintain an excellent residency program, one of only two residency pathology programs in the state. This facilitates an up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and practices in the field.
  • Malignancies are examined for accuracy by two different pathologists before a report is released.

Turn Around Time

  • Internal standards for turn around times for both surgical pathology and clinical laboratory specimens are routinely met or exceeded, and with a monthly performance review.
  • Anatomic specimens are processed late into the night to allow evaluation of the specimens the very next day.
  • Upon request, urgent biopsy cases are given priority and reported to the clinician within 24 hours. The report will be phoned to the physician the morning after the day of collection, Monday through Saturday.
  • The Hematopathology department, and, or the hematopathologist call all of the preliminary bone marrow reports to the physician the next day.

Personalized Service

A pathologist is available for consultation 24 hours a day seven days a week to respond to any questions regarding a surgical or clinical pathology report. Most of the time you may speak directly with the pathologist who generated the report in question, allowing for optimal patient care.

PA Labs and ECIP offer comprehensive clinical and anatomical pathology services. A dedicated team of board-certified pathologists, histo-technologists, medical technologists, and support staff provide these services with extensive expertise in the areas of:

  • Biopsies
  • Bone Marrow Evaluation
  • Breast Pathology and Cytology
  • Dermatopathology
  • Fine Needle Aspirations and Biopsies
  • Forensic Pathology (Medico-legal)
  • Gynecologic Pathology
  • Pap Test Interpretation
  • Clinical Laboratory Services

Medical Partnership

  • Our pathologists serve as clinical consultants and are available 24 hours a day seven days a week to assist with appropriate test selections and/or interpretations.
  • Surgical pathology reports on malignancies are in College of American Pathologist (CAP) format to assist providers in making decisions regarding staging and treatment for their patients.
  • Pathologists' interpretations are easy to read and understand.
  • Our goal is to make every report you receive from PA Labs and ECIP a useful tool for the care of your patients.
